I've been rather taken by the ideas presented in Matthew Miller's book The 2 Percent Solution: Fixing America's Problems in Ways Liberals and Conservatives Can Love. I first found out about this book through a New York Time's review.
Katy and I attended a Kennedy School of Government lunchtime talk by Matthew Miller on Thursday, October 2, 2003. Miller was very engaging and passionate about the issues without becoming strident.
Unfortunately, I don't see Miller's plan getting much traction. After the initial burst of publicity at the book's release, it seems to have dropped pretty much out of sight.
